Prince Firooz Alexander Sefre Zand RIBA and Sefre Architects + Research Group have been working over the last few years with private clients and national governments to develop the concept of sacred space beyond the usual single functional use, and in some cases beyond the restrictions of a single faith or even any faith environment.
These sacred spaces are often associated with educational establishments and Sefre Architects + Research Group is proud to present one its projects, the Anglo European Sanctuary, Ingatestone, Essex, which was opened formally on the occasion of this internationally-renowned school's 40th anniversary. Many other schools are also now exploring the idea of incorporating such spaces within their premises. A petition to the Department of Education in the UK further promoted the educational and spiritual necessity of all schools benefiting from such a facility. We work with schools all over the UK as well as in countries as geographically and culturally diverse as South Korea, Saudi Arabia and the USA.
